So, a new Staff Concern form has been produced and approved by the College’s Senior Management Team. There is also a Staff Compliment Form that can be used to say nice things about a Staff member and to give them a compliment. The Principal recently presented each of these students from the 'Learning for Living group' with a £10 HMV voucher. This was for winning the photocompetition entitled 'Working together at Oaklands' that was recently run on The Box. Their photo will be published in the 2010/11 F/T Learner Handbook.
Reachout Plus is a charity that works with those with disabilities, special needs and 
with the disadvantaged. They have a residential centre, run a number of canal boats and have started a project called Circle of Support. 
The RAC is offering Oaklands College staff, students, friends and family 50%off the cost of their individual Breakdown service.
The Student Council requested that a Student Compliment Form be created to balance the existing Student Concern form; both to be recorded on students’ records. This was agreed by senior Managers and these forms now exist and are available to all teachers.The following forms are now in place:- a Student Concern, a Student Compliment, a Staff Concern and a Staff Compliment.
There are now new parking arrangements at Smallford and Alban Park campuses (there is no student parking at Welwyn Garden and St Albans City campuses).
